Yesterday we visited Ephesus.
It used to be a port city, but is now 6 miles from the coast as the silt kept filling the harbor.
Did you know what is thought to be the earliest advertisement in history was found here? It is a stone slab in the road showing a footprint, a women's head, a heart, a library and a finger indicating that if one were interested.... they could find a woman's love if you turn at the library. It was an ad for a brothel. Somehow, this didn't surprise us...
Oh yeah, I guess I should mention the absolutely incredible Celsus Library and Great Theater that could hold 24, 000 people!
Here's the public bathroom. Jamie's brother Scott was wondering where they hung the toilet paper roll....=-O
Here's Jamie hamming it up again.... Atlas has nothing on him...(Jamie's brother Scott was wondering if it's made of Styrofoam... Brothers!!!)
And here's a quick picture of the the countryside from our bus seats.
