In the late 1800's a young girl by the name of Agnes Hodson used to play in the streets around her home in the Whitechapel neighborhood and petty coat market area of east London. This was not, by far, the richest area of London. It was very industrial and home to the working class. This was no normal time for the Whitechapel neighbourhood. You see, there was a curfew in place. A curfew because there had been a string of unsolved murders going on at the time. In fact they are still unsolved to this day.... the curfew however, has been lifted. The murderer was never found, but the name is now infamous. He is Jack the Ripper and Agnes Hodson is my Great Grandmother.
The homecoming I'm describing is a return to some of my ancestral roots. We took a stroll through all the streets of this area, and thought about what life must have been like for Agnes.

...and now for something completely different...
We've now moved on toreal homecoming.... We have returned to Canada! We've decided to add a Canadian leg to our journey.
But....but... What about your amazing and riveting blog....!? No worries, we are continuing to blog just like we did everywhere else. After all, what's a blog about the world if Canada isn't part of it!?

We had a pretty crazy journey to get here from Stockholm. A flight to London, England from Stockholm. A night at Stansted airport, a few days in London, an overnight bus/ferry/bus to Paris then directly on a plane from Paris to Montreal...phew...

Now, we're not home to stay, just a little visit as we've got a few more flights and worldly destinations in our future. We're taking this opportunity to blog a bit about our home and introduce some of our international friends we've met along the way to our life... hopefully enticing YOU...
